The Fish & Loaves Food and Clothing Pantry at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church is one way we live out Christ’s call to love our neighbors in practical, tangible ways. Through this ministry, we offer food, clothing, and a welcoming presence to individuals and families in our community who need extra support.
Beginning in April 2025, the pantry is open on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 9:30 to 11:00 am. On each opening day, we serve approximately 90 families, thanks to the generosity of our congregation, volunteers, and community partners. Fish & Loaves is a proud partner of the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, helping us provide consistent, reliable assistance.
Donations of nonperishable food items are always appreciated. Current needs include canned fruit, canned meats, canned soups other than chicken noodle, and pasta other than spaghetti. Financial gifts may also be given by check or through the online giving option on our website. Please note “Fish & Loaves Pantry” with your donation. A donation bin is available for small, easy-to-carry food items.
Volunteers are always welcome and play a vital role in making this ministry possible. If you are interested in serving, please contact Kathy Heller at katherine.heller523@gmail.com. Together, we seek to meet real needs, extend dignity, and reflect God’s care for every person who walks through our doors.
