The Backpack Ministry at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church is a quiet but powerful way we care for children in our local community. Each week during the school year, volunteers pack and deliver approximately 20 backpacks filled with ready-to-eat, shelf-stable food to children at two nearby schools. These backpacks help ensure students have access to food when school meals are not available.

This ministry is rooted in compassion, dignity, and faith in action. By meeting a basic need, we seek to offer encouragement and stability to children and families, reminding them they are seen, valued, and cared for.

Donations and volunteers are always welcome. If you would like to support or get involved in the Backpack Ministry, please contact Brice and Elisa Ackerman at lewwa@bellsouth.net. Together, we can help lighten the load for children in our community and reflect Christ’s love in practical ways.
